It’s that time of year again and yes it’s another ‘best of’ list for 2018, and to the delight of THE PLAYMAKER GROUP team we’ve asked them all to choose ONE track, their favourite one from the year…

The Carters – The Black Effect
Music’s power couple. Bigger than the bars and beats. Quotable lyrics from both sides – mixing aspiration and inspiration. Top record!

Masicka – They Don’t Know
My track of the year is by the man who ruled the Dancehall at the beginning of the year with hits like “Greatness” and “Ears A Ring”. I’m speaking of none other than Masicka with “They Don’t Know”
It doesn’t happen too often that a Dancehall tune gets under my skin like that and touches me on so many levels. The riddim, the steel drums, the lyrics and the tone in Masicka’s voice still give me shivers and create a deep feeling of longing.
“They Don’t Know” is pure vibes and gets you in the right spirit! The song is very special to me, it accompanied me throughout the year and never left my playlist.

KIDS SEE GHOST – Feel The Love
Not my favourite track of the year, but one i was most looking forward to and one thats been on rotation since it’s release. Spotify also said it was my most listened to track… so maybe it is my favourite then!
A Kanye & Cudi album was something i wished for when i was a 15 year old kid and 11 year later it’s something that still excited me. This track is just great, the production, the classic harmonies, Pusha T’s verse. The wait was worth it.
